Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa is recognized as the birth place of the Jesus People. The combination of regular young people and hippies were welcomed into the Calvary Chapel despite their long hair and jeans! They began a new style of Christian music with guitars, drums and rock influence.

The Calvary Chapel of Yorba Linda evolved into Anaheim Vineyard led by John Wimber. The Vineyard Movement had a large impact on the praise and worship of the 80’s and 90’s with their laid-back Southern California music offering an appropriate backdrop to their emphasis on intimacy with God.
